Ashley Graham was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. While growing up alongside her sisters, Ashley was constantly bullied by classmates due to her huge legs. She was then mentioned in "Glamour" magazine's "These Bodies Are Beautiful at Every Size" in 2009. Graham made headlines for the second time in 2009 as she appeared in a scandalous Lane Bryant commercial that ultimately was banned across the globe. By the time the advertisement was pulled from YouTube the video had already seen more than 800,000 views. The controversy escalated until Graham appeared with Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show." Graham rose quickly to fame and is now one of the top-respected models of plus size. Grande started performing and singing in her teens. In 2008, she was offered a role in the Broadway show 13, and started appearing on television in small roles. The year 2010 was when she had her biggest breakthrough, landing a part on Nickelodeon's TV show Victorious. She played Cat Valentine, a teenager studying at a school for performing arts. She starred in Sam & Cat, a spin-off show that ran from 2013 to the year 2014.
